Which energetic life cycle represents the energy moving into or out of your experience? Identifying the cyclic energy is another helpful tool of awareness.
During a yin cycle, most of the action in your life seems to be happening under the surface of things. It may be that external situations are forcing you to go within. Yin cycles often call on us to be yielding, passive and reflective. It encourages us to open up to these sides of our nature. To ‘be’ more than to ‘do’. A yin cycle is a good time for completion. If you are currently seeing the numbers 999 everywhere (as I am) than that is confirmation from your angels that this is “the end of a big phase in your personal or global life. Also, it is a message to lightworkers involved in Earth healing and means ‘get to work because Mother Earth needs you right now.’ ” (HEALING WITH THE ANGELS by Dr. Doreen Virtue)
A yang cycle is one of outgoing energy. It is active. An emphasis on logic is called for. However, this logic needs to be applied to action that is purposeful. We will find that a yang cycle is frequently identified by new beginnings, which often includes significant outer change. Sandra Anne Taylor recommends: “Let yourself apply more forceful energy to the task at hand and take advantage of this highly charged yang time.”
When we meditate using the yin/yang symbol, as some of us do, we notice that in the white part of the symbol there is already the seed of decay and that in the black there is a seed, a white dot, indicating a new life. Rebirth. Yin and yang are interdependent and intermingle. In Chinese philosophy, the interaction of our yin/yang forces influences the destiny of an individual.
Since we are on a journey of awareness and transformation, knowing the cycle we are in is yet another tool in our toolbox. It helps us to merge with the energy rather than resist it. That helps us to change in the ways we are working on because ‘what we resist, persists.’ To find our “pearl of great price” (Matthew 13:46) is not a small achievement. Shedding our tensions, worries and fears, our deeply ingrained habits and patterns and creating a ‘new’ enlightened lifestyle that enables us to use our God-given talents and capacities is our quest. An affirmation provided for us by Sandra Anne Taylor is a good one to add to our daily routine: “I am open to understanding the cycle I am in and I am willing to utilize its energy beneficially. All that I need is already part of me.”
If you are entering a yang cycle, I came across a wonderful little, whimsical book the other day that has some helpful advice. It is called SEVEN DUCKS IN A ROW (by Lise Allin). Duck number 3 says to think about what kind of genius we are: “Everybody is some kind of genius – you just have to listen to yourself. Ask yourself what you would really like to be doing on the planet if you could do anything. That is what you were put here to do. So start doing it – take steps to start doing what you have the genius to do. Yep, you already know what it is. Just say it out loud. Then ask for help and start taking steps to do it.”
Yes, I do recommend that we see ourselves as a genius in at least one area, because as Dr. David Hawkins says: ” Until one acknowledges the genius within oneself, one will have great difficulty recognizing it in others.”
Understanding our yin/yang cycles supports our ‘inner genius’ no matter what that might be.
