“God thinks that you are special and God celebrates you all the time.”   Joyce Meyers

“When I look at the solar system, I see the Earth at the right distance from the sun to receive the proper amounts of heat and light. This did not happen by chance.”   Isaac Newton

Tip 12:  The Art of Celebration

God wants us to enjoy ourselves. To celebrate. To make room in our lives for fun. This increases our magnetism greatly, because we lighten up.

For one thing we can celebrate our progress on the path. Enthusiasm and celebration is definitely an appropriate response for spiritual growth. Every ‘shift’ is worthy of celebration no matter how small it may seem. Celebration strengthens us. We can celebrate daily. We do not have to wait for formal special occasions.

As you are aware, the Bible is filled with feasts and festivals.  If you watched the movie Pollyanna, starring Hayley Mills, then you also know that the word “joy” is mentioned umpteen times in the Bible. There are many mentions of party times! Many of the celebrations were tied to times of harvest and afforded time spent in thankfulness (magnetic) and appreciation (magnetic) for the gifts of life.

When I was a child my parents enrolled me in Sunday school.  One of the stories that I remember involved a young man who left his father’s house to go out into the world and live life his own way. He wasted away all the money his father had given him by undisciplined living  and eventually ended up with a job feeding pigs and living with pigs and eating their food which he did not enjoy. He decided to return to life with his father figuring that even life as a servant to his father was better than the way he was living. As soon as the father saw his young son in the distance he began immediately to plan a party! The father’s words to everyone were, “Let us revel and feast and be happy and make merry.” (Luke 15:23) The father not only prepared an amazing feast but also bought his son new clothes, shoes and a special ring to mark the occasion. The father was so joyful that his son had come to his senses and returned home. As everyone was enjoying the party, and the music was loud, the elder son who was returning from work in the fields heard the celebration and when he heard the news and what was going on he became angry, indignant and refused to attend the party. Although the father pleaded with his elder son he preferred to sulk and feel sorry for himself and accuse his brother and his father. None of this caused the father to stop the party; however, it did keep him from entering into the celebration. The elder brother reminded his father that he had served and worked for him for many years and had never caused him any trouble and yet not once had anyone given him a party! The father replied that he could have had a party anytime he wanted one, because everything the father had was always his.

As a child I did not really understand this lesson – partly because I was being raised in a family and community that was much more focused on punishment than celebrating. However, as an adult, and especially since working closely with Angels, I understand that God loves each of us unconditionally and completely. No exceptions. There is nothing we need do to earn this Love. However, if we refuse to accept it and to enjoy the benefits of being a child of God,  then it is our own mistake because we can have a party any time we wish to!

Love & Light,  Monica

I’ve just finished a three-day-party celebration of my birthday. My preference is for small parties 😉
