“I am in the rhythm and flow of ever-changing life.”        (Louise Hay)

The path to peace and happiness is beyond your resistance.  The resistance is ALWAYS to change.  No matter what disguise we give it or what we say it is!  The resistance begins, for most of us, the moment we begin to think of change.  When I begin to suggest to a client a ‘new’ way of looking at her situation or problem, especially if it is a ‘way’ not in keeping with the ‘old’ paradigm of 3D Earthly existence, I can immediately feel her resistance in the air as her jaw clenches and her arms cross.  It is, as you are aware, part of my spiritual counseling and coaching work to help a client to learn about resistance and to make the necessary mental and spiritual changes to work through them.  A client who is serious about change will want me to “hold her feet to the fire” so to speak & help her to move through the blocks preventing her from leading an authentic life.  The greatest lesson in every moment, Louise Hay indicates, is whatever is the hardest thing for us to do and how much we are resisting it.  We will go to many lengths to avoid changing; however, most resistance comes down to fear of the unknown/s.

Fear of change and our desire to protect our own self-image often keeps us ‘stuck’ in a prison of our own making.  No matter how painful our life may be, we are not ready to let go of our old beliefs and patterns.  Howard Falco, author of I AM,  identifies primary feelings that create resistance to receiving answers:

* Fear of changing and losing a part of your identity.

* Anxiety over who you will “have to be” now with this knowledge.

* Guilt for believing something that runs counter to what you learned from those you have loved and trusted.

* Pride in being “right” which won’t allow you to admit that you have misunderstood reality and therefore might be “wrong.”

* Shame about how this new information reflects on you.

* Regret over not having understood earlier.

* Anger at the false rules you were previously operating under.

* Embarrassment over past actions.  (page 259)

As Falco points out, these feelings expose the ‘true nature’ of unanswered questions and therefore it is tempting to limit your expansion and to stay where you are.  However, it IS by accepting an answer and letting go of a previous ‘truth’, that not only allows you to gain an even deeper sense of your true self, but also you find you have not lost anything of your essence.  Your capabilities begin to flourish.

It is sad, that for some of us, unfortunate events and challenging life experiences are the ONLY way some of us can ‘get’ the message.  The universe will continue to offer us opportunities to ‘shift’ our thoughts and ways of being in the world.  We are being nudged to look at ourselves and others with a new lens.  A different set of eyes, because, the universe supports our evolution and expanding consciousness.  As Falco rightly indicates, “if you truly desire to receive your answers, you purposefully intend to see the truth that everything that happens around you, through you, and to you is for you.”  They say ignorance is bliss, and I understand why; however, our attempts to cloak the truth from our own selves keeps us imprisoned.  The truth DOES set us free.  Free to see our own perfection, which is our own divinity.  Free to create our own life according to our own truths.

Abraham (channeled by Esther Hicks) says: “Anytime you feel negative emotion, you are in the mode of resisting something that you want, and that resistance takes its toll on you.  It takes its toll on your physical body, and it takes its toll on the amount of wonderful things that you are allowing to come into your experiencing.” I have learned a great deal from Abraham ( the  Non-Physical Consciousness) at a conference I attended in Toronto a number of years ago and I have found Abraham’s teachings very helpful.  I learned that ” resistance is caused by a thought that does not match the perspective of our Source.”  This resonated for me as truth.  This identical teaching was further revealed to me through the angels and Dr. Doreen Virtue.

God wants us to be peaceful and happy, I believe.  Because something ‘bad’ happened to you ‘before’ when you tried something doesn’t mean that it will happen again.  Someone once said that if we had no memory we would have no fear.  Go ahead.  Try that door again!  The timing may have been wrong for you in the past.  But, that was then and this is NOW.  Be bold.  Be courageous.  Venture into some unknown territory like an intrepid explorer.  What have you got to lose except part of your ‘old’ story?  This time, that door may open for you easily and effortlessly. The energies are totally different NOW.  Personally and also cosmically.  And, if the door still is not open, try an adjacent door!  There are other doors that will lead you to your bliss.  Move beyond your resistance.

Love & Light,    Monica

Oh how I can identify with some of this. the fear of trying something again after previously having had a painful or scary thing happen…it takes curiosity, persistence, bravery, and a lot of need to succeed .
But someone said…”nothing worthwhile was ever easy” , I don’t believe it has to be hard though, we make it harder on ourselves sometimes.
Thank you for another excellent Blog Monica.
