For many of us, money is a highly charged word.  However, as one of my spiritual teachers pointed out to me years ago, money is neutral.  She said to me, “it is paper and it DOES grow on trees.”  Nevertheless, for many of us, we struggle with a tremendous number of  judgments against money.  That is why we likely have less of it than we would like!  For ages, beads and sticks were used as currency.  As we all know, these objects have no intrinsic value.  Neither does money.  Having money is neither good nor bad.  It is energy.  Like everything else in the universe.  Everything in the universe is an expression of Divine Creation.  Money is too.  And as my mentor was pointing out to me when I was wondering whether or not to charge for my spiritual & metaphysical services (for fifteen years I performed the majority of my services for free) it is one of the few things that people around the globe in different cultures have in common.  Because it is given and received  –  it is an expression of Divine Love.  Many spiritual teachers remind us that in order to receive this Divine Love abundantly, we need to know that we are worthy of being infinitely loved and infinitely blessed.

Holding a negative belief about money will cause us to resist it.  Allowing money to be an expression of love and worthiness, allows us not only to receive it, but to invite it and welcome it wholeheartedly.  The most important things in life, as we all know, cannot be bought with money.  We do not need money to achieve the states of love, joy and happiness.  However, they can be created WITH money as easily as without.  So, the choice is ours.

Counting our blessings ( a gratitude practice) makes us feel rich.  This focuses our attention on the richness of life and attracts our abundance to us.  Some of us may be holding on to a ‘sense of lack’ in order to avoid the responsibility of power and choice that comes along with money.  We often use money as an excuse for not stepping into and claiming our freedom of choice.  We need to bring ourselves into vibrational alignment with the energy of money in order for it to flow into our lives.  As many of us have found out, hard work and struggle often does not yield more than enough for basic survival.  The book that I recommend to my clients that helps them to understand why and how we need to come into vibrational alignment with what we desire is entitled MONEY, AND THE LAW OF ATTRACTION: LEARNING TO ATTRACT WEALTH, HEALTH, & HAPPINESS by Esther & Jerry Hicks.  John Randolph Price asks us, “…still think that money is the root of all evil? (The WORSHIP of money is, but not money itself)  Let me say again that ‘money’ is simply a medium of exchange.”

There are a myriad ways to access the power of the Universe.   The more we learn about the natural laws, the more we begin to understand the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and experiences.  Once we make our connections, we begin our deliberate creations.  We choose.  And, we take responsibility for those choices.  This is authentic personal power.
