Patience Please!
My entire life to date often seems to be a lesson in patience. It must be what Sylvia Browne calls a “theme line” running through my current life chart. I am getting much better at it since I realized that it is actually a decision that you make. I had a lot of help from my psychic advisor when I lived in Victoria, B.C. She taught me that in this school that we call Earth, there are many of us that came to learn this lesson and many who find it quite challenging. I know that I am not alone. Many lightworkers seem willing to acknowledge, as do I, that when it comes to manifesting, waiting can be frustrating. Unfortunately, frustration is not an attractive energy – so – usually that energy, if maintained long enough, only brings us more things into our life to frustrate us until we learn how the Law of Attraction operates in the universe. And, when we learn THIS we begin or continue to ‘work’ on our energy and be very conscious of what we are sending out to the universe as requests. Like attracts like.
However, do not beat yourself up if you become frustrated. Let it out though in a safe way so it does not build up in your body and create a block. Head out for a walk or go to the gym. We are human beings after all and we are learning. Babies do get frustrated learning new skills. However, when your child or grandchild is shown how to accomplish a new skill – do you yell or berate them when they get it wrong ten times in a row? Of course not. We all need practice and we all eventually get the skill through practice when we are ready and we are ready at different paces depending on our development. So treat yourself as you would a baby learning to walk. Encourage the practice and celebrate every accomplishment. But you may be saying to me – Monica – I do my daily prayers, affirmations, gratitudes, keep a positive attitude, work on clearing my energy blockages, take my action steps ,send Reiki to my vision board, and still nothing seems to be happening. Yet. Sound familiar? Hang-in there if this is where you are at right now in your transformation process. Trust that things are brewing for you in ways unseen. Because, they ARE! Faith is crucial. Faith in yourself as well as your Co-Creator. If you take some deep breaths and meditate a little each day, daydream about your wishes coming true as if they have already manifested, and keep ‘checking-in’ with yourself each day, you will notice the little seedlings of your ‘new life’ beginning to appear. You cannot rush this process. It is organic. It has its own rhythm and is unique for every individual. I have been fortunate to have had some of my manifestations occur in one day, others in eight years, and I am still waiting for others to come to fruition. So I do understand your frustration. However, there is much more involved in this process than some of us realize and we are learning. Even though the universe can deliver up things faster than MacDonalds, I have found it to operate more frequently like a gourmet restaurant where you wait much longer for your meal, but, then when it arrives it is far more satisfying, nutritious and well-presented than the Big Mac that you ordered. ( By the way, I am a vegetarian, but you get my point!) If you wait a long time and the universe sends you beef bourguignon instead of the Big Mac that you ordered, will you send it back? You can if you wish to. It is just that, sometimes, the kitchen will improve on your order or add some intriguing side dishes.
I decided to embrace patience when I discovered that frustration doesn’t work! When I finally realized, deep within my body, that the universe, in response to my frustration – sent me more to be frustrated about. Like attracts like. I am my own laboratory. You need to be too. Sometimes it is trial and error. You need to allow yourself to make mistakes and to learn from them – the same way you allow your children and grandchildren to learn. One of the things that I also learned was that what we resist, does indeed persist – just as the saying goes. You cannot push against the entire universe. However, when you go with the flow, when you put the oars inside the boat and let yourself drift downstream, it is not only easier, it is a lot more fun. Let your Co-Creator steer while you take frequent breaks, watch out for signs, and enjoy the journey. Awakening and creating your ‘best life’ is not usually an overnight process, for most of us. There are spontaneous awakenings; however, even then, we are never ‘finished’. We are always works of art in progress. Learning is, indeed, a life long journey.
I am going to give you a tip that I wish I had known years ago. I learned this from Dr. Doreen Virtue, and you can too, by reading her books. If there is a quality that you do not embody, such as patience, or any other positive quality, “borrow the mind-set of an ascended master” that is known for that quality. Ask with a sincere heart and remember to say thank you. I could have saved myself a lot of struggles had I known this as a young woman – or – if I had known this even a decade ago. Now, this doesn’t mean that you do not need to ‘step-into’ the energy of patience and ‘own’ it for yourself. Because, you do. However, it gives you a leg-up, so to speak. It is much easier. And, just as you need to have patience while waiting for the universe to deliver what you have planted and are planting in the fertile soil of your mind and feeling deep within your heart as already done, so too do you need to have this patience with yourself. As my psychic advisor said to me, “be kind, patient and gentle with yourself as you are sprouting your wings.” I needed to hear that, maybe you do too? Do at least one nice thing for yourself EVERY day. Sit down with a lovely cup of herbal tea or go for a leisurely stroll in a park or nature sanctuary or have a special bubble bath. Something just for you, by yourself, for yourself, because you love yourself. Remember, you are doing a great amount of ‘inner work’ if you are doing a genuine transformation rather than merely dusting out the corners of your life. This type of journey, while understood very well in other cultures, is not necessarily that understood in our North American culture and that can add to your dis-comfort. Therefore, seek help if you need it. My guides tell me that not everyone has the same “inner resources” and some of us may need to consult a psychotherapist and/or spiritual counselor as required. My spirit guide, Jo Jo (her real name is Josephine) says to you, “out with the old, in with the new, easy does it.” She says it does not have to be as difficult as we often make it. Even though everything is shifting and you may feel as though the ground is moving under your feet like an airport moving sidewalk, and you may have one toe in your ‘old’ life and another in the ‘new’, you are doing a great job. Make sure to give yourself a pat on the back once in awhile.
I would like to congratulate you for staying on the path toward your true self. I would like to share some words of wisdom from Eckhart Tolle that helped me: “You can always cope with the NOW, but, you can never cope with the future. The right action or resource will be there when you need it, not before, not after.” I hope that you become patient sooner, rather than later, because the relaxed energy of this ‘new’ virtue will draw toward you what you are affirming and praying about. Heaven IS listening. Your request has been received and is being answered. A lot goes on behind the scenes that your angels can see and you may not be aware of. Trust that all is in Divine Order and moving in the right direction. Other people’s requests may need to be dealt with before yours can manifest. For example , some one may need to leave a career position so that it is free for you to move into, your future partner may currently live in another country and will be receiving the divine guidance to move just in time to seemingly accidentally run into you in a city across the world somewhere! We don’t have the ‘big’ picture. But, the good news is – your Co-Creator does. So, patience please, your order is on the way. Divine Timing, Divine Will and Divine Order are involved.
As Shakti Gawain says: ” Old patterns are not usually changed overnight. It takes time for the ego to change its habits, so you have to watch the same lousy movie repeat itself a few times… Remember the darkest hour is just before dawn – change often occurs just when you’ve given up or when you least expect it.” I have found this to be true. Keep telling your new story and you will live yourself into it. If you are currently into the ‘pregnant with yourself ‘ phase of this transformation, remember that some people’s labors are longer and more uncomfortable than others; however, when the baby finally arrives, your patience is rewarded and the wait has most definitely been worth it. Labor can sometimes be long and exhausting, so take the opportunity to rest between contractions. Some days I felt as though I was holding onto the tail of a comet and other times like I was on the train from Kingston to Montreal that kept continually breaking down and was never going to pull into the station. Keep breathing, enjoy whatever there is to enjoy in this moment. Take great care of yourself, be your own kindest, and most patient mid-wife.
Love & Light, Monica
