The Angels of the Runes signaled to me today that for many of you it would be the Rune “Laguz” that I would pull from my pouch of Runes if you were here with me today in Angel Cottage. Laguz is associated with these keywords: Flow, Water, That Which Conducts. Does that resonate for you in any way right now? If it does not immediately strike you as pertinent to your life right now, then sit with it later in meditation and prayer and see what might unravel. Laguz invites you to immerse yourself in the experience of living without needing to analyze or understand. One might interpret this Rune as being associated with the energy of the moon because it draws us toward merging. “This Rune often signals a time for cleansing: for revaluing, reorganizing and realigning. A Rune of deep knowing, it may call you to study spiritual matters in readiness for self-transformation.” (THE BOOK OF RUNES by Ralph Blum) When this Rune is drawn your success often depends upon your own intuitive wisdom and harmonizing with your own natural rhythms. Because Laguz is a “Rune of the self relating rightly to the Self, Laguz signifies what alchemists called the conjunction (take the ‘n’ off that word please as auto-correct will not let me spell it properly!) or sacred marriage.” In fairy tales it is the end of the story where the hero and the heroine live happily ever after; however, in the alchemical world of a person individuating and merging their divine masculine and divine feminine energies then it is the ‘inner marriage’ that results in our wholeness. When we have completed our own ‘inner marriage’ then there is a merging together of the mature feminine with the mature masculine and equal partnership within can lead to a full and equal partnership without which some psychologists refer to as an androgynous consciousness that demands considerable hard work and time (think Jungian therapy!) in bringing into union a merging of unconscious opposites. Essentially, when we are whole we attract others to us who are also whole or working toward it. The capacity to merge emerges out of a recognition that the opposites exist and allowing them expression.
The Angels tell me that right now if you were with me in Angel Cottage a number of you would draw the Rune “Laguz Reversed.” Do not be alarmed or judge yourself negatively in any way if you feel that resonates. All it means is that at this particular time you are failing to draw upon your own instincts and therefore chances are high that the intuitive side of your nature is languishing and this leaves you out of balance. Do you feel somewhat out of balance? The Angels of the Runes counsel you against striving and trying to make things happen. When a client receives this Rune it is because they are operating beyond their own capacity or strength at this particular time. Listen to your own rhythms. Are you pressing too hard with your own mind to try to make things happen? If so it is time to relax and to take the time to go within and to honour the receptive side of your Spiritual Warrior Nature. This Rune, Laguz, encourages you to let the unseen powers that are active in your life right here and now (Angels, faeries, guides) help to nourish you and connect you to the Flow.
Sometimes we find that we are dis-connected from ourselves and not in touch with our deepest Self because we are living someone else’s dream. What is your dream? Do you feel it is time to recover it? If so it is time to go within and to revalue, reorganize and realign as suggested by Laguz. For busy people, which is most of us as we juggle the various areas of our 21st century lives, we need to discover processes that help us to have the time to honour our intuition and leaves us time for self-care. There are many; however, today I am thinking about a lecture I heard a year or so ago by J.B. Glossinger who suggests that we whittle our priorities down considerably. So, that was one of the many things that I appropriated for my own journey. I did as suggested and sat quietly when I had plenty of time and listed all my priorities censoring nothing. Glossinger says that most of us have 20 or more and that once we have listed them all we choose our “sacred six.” Never working with more than six goals at a time (by the way – these goals don’t have to be large or grand in nature – one of my current six is getting more movement into my life!). If you happen to be in an abusive relationship – Glossinger suggests that your mission can be to get out of it. “Life is a canvas – go paint!”
Being your authentic self is simple but not always easy. It is always a matter of letting go of what no longer serves you as there is never anything that we need to add to ourselves but only things to subtract. We are enough. Dig deep within so that you can recover your dream/s and enter the Flow. As Glossinger says, ” the reason you are here may be to bless one other person.” I always think about the number of people that might be blessed by the people that I bless and that makes my day! When we whittle down our priorities to our “sacred six” it is easier to choose and then design our new life. God/Universe and the Angels are friendly and have your back throughout. Choose your vision for yourself, remember you are divine and therefore unlimited and then work backwards letting your mind, heart and intuition merge and lead the way.
Many Blessings, Monica
